The journey for our students that take part in the student ambassador program is exciting and rewarding. From the beginning level of student ambassador to junior trainee up to the top tier of apprentice, our faculty guides and mentors students to not just become role models but to start to see themselves as leaders and effective communicators. Each level of the tiered program gives students opportunities to receive feedback on their performance in the classroom and helps them to work effectively in the group setting. With the guidance of our seasoned dance educators our students can set and reach goals through this program that can propel them into a successful leadership role upon completion.

The Student Ambassador program here at That’s Dancing, allows currently registered students to serve as faculty assistants and ambassadors for the studio. Students must be enrolled in at least 3 technique classes for the 2023-2024 dance season, and must be a responsible, respectful, and caring student. Dancers must also have good attendance in all of their current classes.

Dancers that meet the above qualifications and are 8 years old and older are eligible to apply to be a Student Ambassador. Student Ambassadors will serve as That’s Dancing faculty assistants and Ambassadors for That’s Dancing. Responsibilities will include assisting with classroom management, demonstrating all exercises and combinations, escorting younger dancers to the restroom, and serving as a role model to the next generation of young artists.

Dancers that meet the above qualifications, are 12 years old and older, and have at least 2 years experience as a Student Ambassador, are eligible to apply to be a Junior Trainee Ambassador. Junior Trainee Ambassadors will serve as faculty assistants and Ambassadors for That’s Dancing and will serve as training assistants for new and less experienced Student Ambassadors.

Dancers that meet the above qualifications, are 16 years old and older, and have at least 4 years experience as a Student Ambassador qualify to be considered for an Apprentice position. Our Apprentice program is geared towards dancers that are interested in pursuing a career in dance or dance education. Dancers interested must be recommended by That’s Dancing faculty and final decisions are made by the Artistic Directors. Dancers that are admitted into the Apprentice Program will have the opportunity to work with and assist multiple That’s Dancing faculty members and guest artists, will serve as training assistants for both Junior Trainee Ambassadors and Student Ambassadors, be eligible to assist with choreography, and learn the skills required to be a dance educator. Apprentices will also have access to other professional skill building resources.
